| dc.description.abstract | The effects of nitriding the samarium-cobalt intermetallic SmCo5are studied. It is observed that increased amounts of nitrogen are absorbed as the SmCo5powders are heated at higher temperatures in a flowing N2atmosphere. The saturation magnetization Msof the bonded SmCo5Nxmagnets initially increases as the amount of nitrogen absorbed is increased but then decreases as additional nitrogen is absorbed.
