Three human isolates of Pythium insidiosum De Cock 1987, the aetiologic agent of pythiosis, were induced for zoosporogenesis. The isolates were grown on Sabouraud glucose agar for 2 days before being inoculated into boiled spikelets of Axonopus compressus (Gramineae) and then into induction medium (IM). Optimum zoospore formation was demonstrated under the light microscope after incubation for 24 h at 37°C in IM.en_US
