An examination was made of the in vitro susceptibility of Plasmodium falciparum to chloroquine, amodiaquine and quinine in the Sriracha District of Thailand, about 180 km east of Bangkok. Schizont formation was completely inhibited by the following concentrations of the three antimalarials: Chloroquine, 4 nmols per ml of blood culture; amodiaquine, 0·25 nmols per ml; and quinine, 12·8 nmols (4·1 μg) per ml. © 1980 Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.en_US
