Rheological properties of carbon black filled hydrogenated acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) incorporated with various loadings of co-agents (Sartomer TRIM, Sartomer ZDA), processing aids (Struktol WB222 and Struktol NS60) and softener (TOTM) were determined and compared. With these chemicals, improvements in processability and mouldability of HNBR compounds are observed at different magnitudes. Struktol WB222 provides the greatest improvement whereas Sartomer ZDA shows the least. Cure characteristics of the HNBR compounds are also affected, i.e., the addition of acrylate-based chemicals such as Sartomer TRIM and Sartomer ZDA results in the enhanced cure rate and state- of-cure whereas the addition of Struktol WB222, Struktol NS60 and TOTM shows the opposite result trends.en_US
