Abstract
© Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2013. With the completion of technology roadmapping implementation, an organization can be assured that its required technologies and infrastructures will be ready when needed. Implementing technology roadmapping as a part of the ongoing strategic/business planning process is challenging because the consequences of technology roadmapping implementation can lead to some changes in the business process, organizational structure, or even working culture. Therefore, an organization needs to understand how the changing roles and responsibilities of key players involved in the technology roadmapping process match with the dynamics of technology roadmapping implementation in each stage. This chapter illustrates the dynamics of technology roadmapping implementation and the importance of applying a change management approach to address an individual’ needs and challenges in adopting the technology roadmapping process. A case example is also presented to demonstrate how one of the leading building product manufacturers in the ASEAN region manages through the dynamics of technology roadmapping implementation.
