Title
Applications of phase transfer technique to the study and development of natural rubber
Surface characterization of natural rubber latex was performed using the phase transfer technique. The radiation vulcanized natural rubbrer (RVNR) technique was used for the preparation of toughened polystyrene. The phase transfer method separated rubber from aqueous phase and the amount of surfactant used played an important role in the determination of surface charge. Bulk polymerization was used for the preparation of toughened PS and the deproteinized RVNR was embedded in the PS.
