The paper presents the simulation study of an offline robust model predictive control (RMPC) for a DC-DC buck converter. The robust control synthesis is adopted from [4]. A time varying model of a DC-DC buck converter and an integral controller are formulated into a robust MPC problem. It is solved offline by means of the linear matrix inequalities LMI. The results are stored in lookup tables and used to compute state feedback gains corresponding to measured state variables at each time step. Viability of the control algorithm is verified by simulation on MATLAB/Simulink. The results show that the output voltage can be controlled over a wide load range. The control algorithm is robust and able to compensate for unmeasured disturbances.en_US
