The finite element method (FEM) is often employed to analyze boat-boat collision. To reduce the computational complexity of mathematical models during the analyzing process, the buoyancy force acting on a boat immersed in water is eliminated. To make numerical simulations practical, it is necessary to include the effect of the surrounding water in the model. This paper aims to analyze the boat-boat collision model in which the surrounding water was an explicit model. The fluid-structure interaction (FSI) method was employed in the study. The impact location of the striking boats with and without the surrounding water was investigated. It was shown from the present study that the internal energy after the boat collision reduced due to the presence of the surrounding water. The understanding from the present study will be useful to analyze the other boat-boat collision in further work.en_US
