Using an exactly solvable model - a generalized Hongler model - we study the impact of time delays on noise-induced transitions to bistability. In particular, we show that systems described by the generalized Hongler model exhibit three parameter regimes. They can be monostable, bistable, or nonstationary. Transitions are induced both by the amplitude of the multiplicative noise and the delay time. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.en_US
