คุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในชนบท อำเภอวังน้ำเขียว จังหวัดนครราชสีมา

Abstract

การเพิ่มขึ้นของจำนวนผู้สูงอายุอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทำให้เป็นภาระต่อสังคมในการดูแล การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในชนบท และหาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างลักษณะส่วนบุคคล ความรู้สึกมีคุณค่าในตนเอง สัมพันธภาพในครอบครัว และการสนับสนุนทางสังคมกับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในชนบท เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบวัดคุณภาพชีวิต SF-36 V2.0 สัมภาษณ์ผู้สูงอายุ จำนวน 478 คน ระหว่างวันที่ 1 มิถุนายน–31 กรกฎาคม 2553 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยสถิติไคสแควร์ สัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ของเพียร์สัน และการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุแบบขั้นตอน ผลการวิจัยพบว่าผู้สูงอายุมีความพอใจกับคุณภาพชีวิตด้านร่างกายร้อยละ 50.4 และพอใจด้านจิตใจร้อยละ 52.7 ปัจจัยที่สามารถทำนายคุณภาพชีวิตด้านร่างกาย 6 ปัจจัย ได้แก่ ความรู้สึกมีคุณค่าในตนเองภาวะสุขภาพ การเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมของชมรม การศึกษา อาชีพและอายุ โดยสามารถอธิบายคุณภาพชีวิตด้านร่างกาย ได้ร้อยละ 30.5 ปัจจัยที่สามารถทำนายคุณภาพชีวิตด้านจิตใจ 4 ปัจจัย ได้แก่ ความรู้สึกมีคุณค่าในตนเอง ภาวะสุขภาพ การเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมของชมรม และสัมพันธภาพในครอบครัว โดยสามารถอธิบายคุณภาพชีวิตด้านจิตใจได้ร้อยละ 21.5 บุคลากรสาธารณสุขควรส่งเสริมให้ผู้สูงอายุมีความรู้สึกมีคุณค่าในตนเอง ส่งเสริมสัมพันธภาพในครอบครัว องค์กรท้องถิ่นควรร่วมให้การส่งเสริมกิจกรรมเหล่านี้ที่สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของผู้สูงอายุ เพื่อคุณภาพชีวิต ที่ดีขึ้นของผู้สูงอายุในชนบท

Due to the continuous increase in the number of the elderly, Thai society has the burden of responsibility for taking care of them. This cross-sectional study aimed to assess the quality of life of rural elderly and determine the relationships between general characteristics, self – esteem, family relations, social support, and quality of life. Data on the quality of life (QoL) were collected by using the Short Form 36 (SF–36 V2.0) while interviewing 478 elderly, from June 1 to July 31, 2010. Statistics used were Chi-square, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression. About 50.4% of the elderly were satisfied with the quality of life regarding their physical health and 52.7% regarding their mental health. The six predictors of physical health in relation to QoL were self-esteem, health status, participation in elderly club activities, educational level, occupation, and age; these could explain 30.5% of the variation in physical health aspect of QoL. Four predictors of mental health in relation to QoL were self-esteem, health status, part cipation, and family relations; these could explain 21.5% of the variations in mental health as it relates to QoL. Health personnel should promote the elderly’s self-esteem and familial relations among the needy elderly. Rural seniors should be encouraged and supported by the local authority according to their needs, to ensure a better quality of life.
