Abstract

© 1991 by CRC Press, Inc. Malaria, dengue hemorrhagic fever, encephalitis, and filariasis are relatively common mosquito-borne diseases that cause serious problems in many countries in the tropics, especially in Thailand. Since we still lack practical immunization or therapeutic measures for preventing or treating these diseases and the development of drug-resistant malarial organisms in some areas, control of these diseases relies entirely on the control of mosquito vector, on the early identification of cases, and, if possible, on the isolation of cases from contact with mosquito vectors.
