dc.description.abstract | The strong coupling expression for the free energy difference of a superconductor containing strongly interacting magnetic impurities obtained by Yamamoto and Nagi is generalized so that it can be applied to anisotropic superconductors. The specific heat jump at T c is then calculated from the resulting expression within the (separable anisotropic) square well model version of the Migdal-Eliashberg formulation of superconductivity. Numerical comparison of the results obtained are made with the specific heat jump at T c obtained on the basis of a trivial extension of the Bardeen-Stephen expression for the free energy difference. © 1987. | en_US |
