พฤติกรรมการป้องกันโรคฟันผุในเด็กปฐมวัยของผู้ปกครองในศูนย์พัฒนาเด็กเล็ก อำเภอโพธิ์ทอง จังหวัดอ่างทอง

Abstract

ปัญหาทันตสาธารณสุขในเด็กปฐมวัยคือโรค ฟันผุ ผู้ปกครองมีบทบาทหลักในการดูแลและป้องกัน ไม่ให้เกิดโรคฟันผุในบุตรหลาน การวิจัยมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมการป้องกันโรคฟันผุในเด็กปฐมวัย ของผู้ปกครองและปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง เก็บข้อมูลด้วย แบบสอบถามชนิดตอบด้วยตนเองกับผู้ปกครองเด็ก ปฐมวัยในศูนย์พัฒนาเด็กเล็ก 172 คน สุ่มตัวอย่าง แบบชั้นภูมิตามสัดส่วน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ผู้ปกครอง ร้อยละ 61.60 มีพฤติกรรมการป้องกันโรคฟันผุในเด็ก ปฐมวัยระดับปานกลาง มีพฤติกรรมด้านการทำความ สะอาดช่องปากระดับสูง (ร้อยละ 66.80) ด้านการเป็น แบบอย่างและด้านอาหารระดับปานกลาง (ร้อยละ 52.90 และ 47.70) และด้านการเฝ้าระวังระดับต่ำ (ร้อยละ 41.90) พบปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรม การป้องกันโรคฟ˜นผุในเด็กปฐมวัย 6 ปัจจัย คือ ประสบการณ์การป้องกันฟันผุในเด็กปฐมวัย (p < 0.001) อาชีพ (p < 0.05) ความคาดหวังในผลลัพธ์ และ การรับรู้ความสามารถของตนเองต่อการป้องกันโรค ฟันผุในเด็กปฐมวัย (r = 0.26 และ 0.22) การรับรู้ โอกาสเสี่ยงและการรับรู้ความรุนแรงของการเกิดโรค ฟันผุในเด็กปฐมวัย (r = 0.20 และ 0.19) เสนอแนะ ให้สร้างความตระหนักและเพิ่มทักษะการดูแล และตรวจสุขภาพช่องปากเด็กปฐมวัย โดยเฉพาะ ในผู้ปกครองที่ไม่มีประสบการณ์และทำงานนอกบ้าน เพื่อให้ผู้ปกครองเฝ้าระวังโรคฟันผุในบุตรหลานต่อไป

Dental health problems in early childhood are mainly caries. Guardians have important roles in taking care of the oral health and preventing their children from having caries. This research aimed to study early childhood caries preventive behaviors of guardians and related factors. The sample consisted of 172 guardians of preschool children in the Child Development Center by proportional stratifi ed random sampling. Data collection was accomplished with self-administered questionnaires. The research fi ndings revealed that 61.60% of the guardians had a moderate level of overall-dental caries preventive behaviors. Among the preventive behaviors, 66.80% of guardians taking care of oral hygiene behavior was at a high level, 52.90% being the role model and 47.70% taking care of food consumption were at a moderate level while 41.90% of those who stayed alerted for oral health was at a low level. Six factors related to dental caries preventive behaviors of guardians were the experience of preventing early childhood caries (p < 0.001), the guardians’ occupation (p < 0.05), perceived response effi cacy and perceived self-effi cacy of the dental caries preventive behaviors (r = 0.26 and 0.22), perceived susceptibility and perceived severity of the early childhood dental caries (r = 0.20 and 0.19). Dental health agencies should organize trainings to create greater awareness and increase the skills in examining oral health to keep the guardians alerted for oral health of their children particularly, guardians who worked outside and those who did not have an experience in preventing caries.
