Title
Esophageal perforation related to swallowed foreign body: a review with case report
Reports and literature related to esophageal foreign bodies and perforation are reviewed. The impaction site and perforation occur mostly at the cervical esophagus. Removal of foreign bodies should be attempted by specialists. There are 2 principles in the management of esophageal perforation and its complications, namely, surgical and nonsurgical measures. The decision in management varies in each individual case. A recent unfortunate case is presented and used by the authors to remind those who have to deal with the removal of foreign bodies.
