dc.description.abstract© 2017 The Royal Society of Chemistry. A strategic preparation of ferrocenated compounds as aerobic catalysts was successfully carried out for the decolorization of methylene blue and oxidation of phenylboronic acid without light irradiation and excess addition of hydrogen peroxide. Cyclopentadienyl radical formed by the decomposition of ferrocenium under basic conditions plays a major role in the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) under an aerobic atmosphere.en_US
