Abstract
© 2014 IEEE. Melody Touch is an interactive game for learning English from songs. It combines the education and entertainment applications with the goal to help users improve their language skills by learning from songs. Melody Touch is developed on a tablet running Android operating system. The game consists of three main parts: the purchasing system, the game module and the review mistake session which has the key characteristics of allowing users to revise a set of vocabularies from song lyric after they finished playing. During playing, a user has to select one of given words to fill in a blank displayed as part of song lyric shown while listening to music. Words having the same sound (homophones) or the same meaning (synonyms) is chosen to be displayed. Thus, the game would help users improve the listening skill as well as the vocabularies in the song. The game plays any existing songs without connecting to the Internet, and songs in the game could be free songs or purchased songs available in the store.
