dc.description.abstract© Springer-Verlag Italia 2013. Several methods, either singly or in combination, can be used for scar treatment and prevention. The position and risk of scar development should be planned before deciding on the incision. The biology of cancer and the postoperative adjuvant used in breast cancer treatment must be considered when offering scar management. In the future, genetic therapy and tissue engineering may play roles in primary scar management, treatment, and prevention, which may lead clinicians and patients to achieve maximum satisfaction.en_US
