Abstract
© Springer-Verlag Italia 2013. There are many options and techniques for reconstruction of the nipple and areola complex. Each of these techniques has its own advantages and disadvantages. There is no one unique method available for every patient, but we have to individualize and discriminate for the most benefits in each patient. A meticulous surgical method should be strictly followed to achieve maximum aesthetical outcomes. In the future, there will be probably different types of tissues and materials available for reconstruction of the nipple and areola complex.
