Abstract
© 2018, The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature. The ground support equipment such as the baggage towing tractors are widely used in the airport apron of Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Thailand. The tractor weight was heavy; therefore, the solid tire had been used instead of the pneumatic tire. The pneumatic tire life was short while the solid tires were hard for riding which were the huge problems of tractor tire usage. This research aimed to analyze effects of the rolling tires. The drum testing method had been performed to measure the rolling effect of tires. The vibration of rolling tires was analyzed to evaluate effects on the baggage towing tractor. The advantage of this study will be useful to develop the towing tractor tires in the future work.
