ชะตากรรมนางบัวคลี่: ความรุนแรงในครอบครัวจากวรรณคดีสู่สื่อสมัยใหม่

Abstract

วรรณคดีเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนเป็นวรรณคดีที่ปรากฏความรุนแรงในครอบครัวอยู่หลายตอน โดยเฉพาะตอนขุนแผนสังหารนางบัวคลี่ถือเป็นตอนที่ถูกนำมาวิพากษ์วิจารณ์กันอยู่เสมอ บทความวิจัยนี้ มุ่งศึกษาเปรียบเทียบชะตากรรมตัวละครนางบัวคลี่ในวรรณคดีเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผน กับเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนที่ถูกดัดแปลงในรูปแบบต่างๆ ทั้ง นวนิยาย ภาพยนตร์ การ์ตูน และละครโทรทัศน์ โดยวิเคราะห์ความรุนแรงในครอบครัวที่ปรากฏในตัวบทวรรณคดีและตัวบทที่ถูกถ่ายทอดสู่สื่อสมัยใหม่ จากการศึกษาผู้วิจัยพบว่า ความตายของนางบัวคลี่นั้นเป็นผลจากความรุนแรงในครอบครัว ที่ฝ่ายหญิงเป็นผู้ถูกกระทาจากสามีและพ่อตามลักษณะโครงสร้างครอบครัวที่ผู้ชายเป็นใหญ่ แต่เมื่อเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนในตอนขุนแผนสังหารนางบัวคลี่ถูกนำมาผลิตซ้ำในรูปแบบต่างๆ ความรุนแรงในตัวบทก็มิได้ถูกนำมาถ่ายทอดตามเดิม หากแต่ผู้ดัดแปลงพยายามให้ “ความเป็นธรรมทางวรรณศิลป์” แก่ตัวละครนางบัวคลี่มากยิ่งขึ้น อีกทั้งภาพของนางบัวคลี่ก็ถูกตีความแตกต่างกันไปจากเดิม เพื่อให้ผู้อ่านและผู้ชมได้เห็นถึงชะตากรรมของนางบัวคลี่ในฐานะของผู้หญิงที่ถูกกระทำอย่างอยุติธรรม การดัดแปลงเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนขึ้นใหม่จึงไม่ใช่เพียงการผลิตซ้ำวรรณคดีเท่านั้น หากแต่ยังเป็นเวทีในการนำวรรณคดีมาตีความใหม่และเป็นการตั้งคำถามกับความรุนแรงในครอบครัวที่ปรากฏในตัวบทเดิมด้วยเช่นกัน

Khun Chang Khun Phaen is the literature that often demonstrates a great deal of family violence, particularly the part in which Khun Phaen murdered Buakhli. This article is a comparative study of the fate of the character Buakhli in the original literature version of Khun Chang Khun Phaen and that in various adaptations of the story in modern media such as novel, cinema, cartoon, and television drama with an emphasis on the analysis of family violence. In the original literature, the death of Buakhli arises from violence in the family which, in a clearly paternalistic society, is inflicted on women by husbands and fathers. Various modern adaptations of the passage try to adjust the details so that the violence is reduced. The fate of Buakhli becomes more the result of “poetic justice” and she is perceived as the victim of unfair treatment. These adaptations of Khun Chang Khun Phaen do not simply reproduce the original but offer new interpretations which deny the violence in the family as well as question such violence found in the original.
