Abstract
Patients with ocular defects often require custom ocular prostheses, which can alleviate esthetic concerns and enhance their overall quality of life. Various techniques such as iris painting and digital imaging have been introduced for fabricating an ocular prosthesis, although these techniques pose several limitations. A cost-effective method of fabricating a custom ocular prosthesis, utilizing easily accessible household materials such as sewing thread and cellulose acetate sheets, is described. The resulting ocular prostheses deliver predictable esthetic outcomes and have been successfully used for over a decade, resulting in favorable patient satisfaction.
