การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาหน้าทับเพลงไทยว่ามีอะไรบ้างที่สามารถนำมาเขียนเป็นโน้ตสากลและให้บรรเลงโดยเครื่องกระทบสากล สร้างจังหวะกลองใหม่ๆ ให้วงโยธวาทิต ได้ใช้บรรเลง นำมาใช้ประกอบเพลงไทยเดิมที่ใช้วงโยธวาทิตบรรเลง และเพื่อสร้างสื่อการสอนวิธีตีกลองตามจังหวะหน้าทับ มีขั้นตอนการศึกษาดังนี้คือศึกษาหน้าทับเพลงไทยแล้วนำมาบรรเลงโดยเครื่องประกอบจังหวะในวงโยธวาทิต ประกอบด้วยกลองใหญ่ 4 ใบ แทนเสียงหน้าทับ โดยใช้หน้าทับ ปรบไก่และหน้าทับสองไม้(ไทย) แบบเถามีเพลงนำมาวิจัยทั้งหมด 4 เพลงคือ เพลงแขกวรเชษฐ์ (เถา) เพลงแขกต่อยหม้อ(เถา) เพลงสุดสงวน(เถา) และเพลงทองกวาว(เถา) และผู้วิจัยได้สร้างสรรค์ตัวอย่างการโซโลช่วงเปลี่ยนอัตราจังหวะจาก 3 ชั้น (จังหวะช้า) เป็น 2 ชั้น(จังหวะปานกลาง) และ 2ชั้นเป็นชั้นเดียว (จังหวะเร็ว) จากนั้นนำโน้ตหน้าทับไทยมาลงเป็นโน้ตสากลโดยใช้โปรแกรม Sibelius แล้วนำโน้ตมาสอนนักเรียน โดยให้ฟังตัวอย่างเสียงจากโปรแกรม Sibelius ควบคู่กัน ผลการวิจัยปรากฏว่าหน้าทับทั้ง 4 เสียงสามารถนำมาใช้กลองใหญ่ตีได้โดย ต้องกำหนดกลองใหญ่แทนเสียงหน้าทับทั้ง 4 เสียง ตามระดับเสียงที่ใกล้เคียงที่สุด นักเรียนสามารถฟังตัวอย่างการตีได้จากโปรแกรม Sibelius พร้อมกับฝึกปฏิบัติตามโน้ตได้ง่ายขึ้น การวิจัยครั้งนี้ไม่ได้มีการเทียบเสียงเครื่องดนตรีตามหลักสวรศาสตร์ (หรือ โสตศาสตร์) ทำให้ความถี่ของเสียงหน้าทับกับกลองใหญ่ยังคงห่างกัน การนำเครื่องตั้งเสียงมาช่วยในการตั้งเสียงจะทำให้ได้เสียงที่ใกล้เคียงมากกว่า
The purposes of the study are to study Thai Natab and transcribe to western notation for western percussion instruments, and also compose new rhythmic pattern for school marching band. Additionally, it can be played with in Thai arrangement with school marching band. Moreover, this study can be used as an instructional guide for Thai Natab. The method of this study started by studying Thai Natab and then transcribed to western percussion instruments; 4 marching bassdrum, using Natub Probkai and Natab Songmai [Thai] from four songs. There are Kaekvorachet [Tao], Kaektoimo [Tao]Sudsanguan [Tao] and Tongkwaw [Tao].The author also composed solo section when changing rhythm from Samchan [slow section]to Songchan [ medium section] and to Chuandiao [fast section],then using Sibelius program to notate and play for students. The result reveals that 4 sound by Thai Natab can be played by four graduate bassdrums.The students study from Sibelius program, which is easy to learn and practice. This study does not use the western acoustic tuning for Natab and bassdrum. So,it,can be used a tuner to help tuning the bassdrum to get closer to the Thai drums pitches.
