The purposes of this research were to study the level of personal factor, training factors, organizational factors, and work performance of family planning field workers of BKKBN (National Family Planning and Population Board or NFPPB), to study the correlation between personal factor, training factors, organizational factors, and work performance; and to study personal factor, training factors, and organizational factors affecting work performance. This quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study collected data through a survey of 336 family planning field workers of BKKBN who have attended a training program in 2018 in East Java Province, Indonesia. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The research findings revealed that overall of the important factors affecting work performance of family planning workers were at high levels. Also, there was a correlation between personal factor, training factors, organizational factors, and work performance. Moreover, personal factor (self-directed learning), training factors (teaching techniques, curriculum, and training facilities), and organizational factors (organizational support) could predict work performance of family planning workers. Teaching techniques had the highest influence on work performance (38.6%). The second factor that affected work performance was self-directed learning which could increase the prediction rate by 7.5 %. Furthermore, the third factor that affected performance was organizational support (3.7%), followed by curriculum (1.8%) and training facilities (1.0%) that could increase the predictive rate. The result of this study suggest that BKKBN should pay more attention to facilitators, and support family planning field workers by providing updated and adequate learning resources. Moreover, BKKBN is expected to be able to make policies that could provide fair assesment and appreciation for family planning field workers who have good performance and should design a curriculum that is up to date and in accordance with the content of the training program, revitalizing training facilities in education and training center
