| dc.description.abstract | This thesis presents a computer application for comparing basic word lists, imparticular, basic word lists of Southeast Asian language families. The application software named LANGT is developed to facilitate the work of linguists in the linguistic fields of information processing such as the language document, sound inventory, and word list. This application software is a data base manager for manipulating the linguistic data, searching for a specific linguistic data, and especially for comparing the word lists between 2-4 languages. Besides, if can update the deficient data conveniently. In using this software, the user had to know how to use commands from several menus of this software. The result of information processing is presented on the monitor screen and through the printer. This application software can be used with IBM-PC 16 bits microcomputer or a compatible one with 64 Kbytes in main memory. | |
