ปัจจุบัน มหาวิทยาลัยของรัฐกำลังเตรียมพร้อมที่จะออกนอกระบบราชการ ดังนั้นจึง ต้องมีการพิจารณาถึงค่าใช้จ่ายต่าง ๆ ในมหาวิทยาลัย จุดคุ้มทุนของหลักสูตรต่าง ๆ จึง เป็นสิ่งสำคัญเพื่อนำไปพิจารณาในการกำหนดอัตราค่าหน่วยกิต ค่าบำรุงการศึกษา และค่า ธรรมเนียมอื่นของมหาวิทยาลัย การครั้งนี้เป็นการสร้างโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปเพื่อใช้ในการคำนวณจุดคุ้มทุนของหลักสูตร บัณฑิตศึกษา และหลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตรบัณฑิต ของมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล เราใช้หลักการของการ โปรแกรมเชิงวัตถุ (Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)) ในการสร้างโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูป สำหรับหลักสูตรบัณฑิตศึกษาเพื่อสะดวกในการพัฒนาโปรแกรม และใช้หลักการของการบัญชีต้นทุน ในการวิเคราะห์ค่าใช้จ่ายแบบต้นทุนการผลิต (Manufacturing Cost) สำหรับการคำนวณค่า ใช้จ่ายของหลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตรบัณฑิต ในการสร้างโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปนี้ใช้ภาษา Borland Delphi 4 เป็นเครื่องมือในการพัฒนา ผลลัพธ์จากโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปจะแสดงถึงค่าใช้จ่ายต่อหัว (รวมถึงค่าหน่วยกิต และค่า บำรุงการศึกษา) ของหลักสูตรต่าง ๆ ณ จุดคุ้มทุน การใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปจะช่วยให้การ คำนวณง่ายขึ้น ลดแรงงานและเวลาในการคำนวณ สามารถคำนวณได้ปริมาณมาก และป้องกันข้อผิดพลาด จากการคำนวณ
The preparation for public (government) universities to become autonomous is now intensifying. Universities must have a management plan and they should consider the cost effectiveness of any actions they undertake. The break-even point (BEP) of any course is very important because it helps to set the tuition fee, annual fee and any fee of the university. The purpose of this study was to create two software packages to find the BEP of the Graduate Program and Undergraduate Science Program at Mahidol University. For the software application of the Graduate Program, we used the concept of ObjectOriented Programming (OOP) to define the classes and the inherent in order to develop and maintain software. For the software package of the Undergraduate Science Program, we used concept of Cost Accounting to analyze all costs into manufacturing cost. The Borland Delphi 4 language was used to create the software. The results of the packages showed the cost per head (include the tuition fee and the annual fee) of any programs at the BEP. The software application made it easy for computation, reducing labor and providing quantitative results
