A simulation analysis of policies for cattle development in Thailand

Abstract

At any age, the body weight of bull is heavier than that of the female at any age. Through the use of software package, the estimation of the weight of cattle is statistically acceptable.The projection of the population shows that if the growth rate of the cattle remains the same, the population will double in 22 years. By following Brass relational Gompertz fertility model, the fertility rate of cattle will be at its best when cattle are 3-6 years old. Projection of the mortality through Brass logit system shows that the mortality rate of cattle is high at the early and late stage of life and the life expectancy is estimated at 25 years.
