NR vulcanized sheets were modified using chlorination technique at various chlorination times for 0 to 30 min. FT-IR spectra showed the presence of chlorine group on modified surface, while roughness and stiffness increased gradually with chlorination time. Chlorinated NR (CNR) was hot press laminated by ethylene methylacrylate (EMAC) at 170OC. Bonding between CNR and EMAC found the maximum peel strength of 6585 N/m at 1 min chlorination time. Peeled surfaces exhibited the combination of adhesive- and cohesive failures, with small pieces detached from CNR surface.
