Abstract
Superconductors of high transition temperatures (Tc) are known to possess layer structures. Electric current tunneling is theoretically studied across the geometry of SISIS...IS where S is a superconducting layer and I is an insulating layer. The wave function in each region is determined and the boundary-value treatment is utilized. The electric current tunneling probability is numerically calculated for both the rare-earth and the bismuth families of superconducting material and is found to have periodic behavior throughout each specimen. The calculated values of the tunneling coefficients for various high Tc superconductors, whose critical temperature are different, are graphically compared and analyzed.
