The objective of this research was to study the decisions of associate judges in relation to drug addiction cases and juvenile delinquency for duty performance. The sample group was composed of 61 associate judges in the Nakornpathom Provincial Court (Juvenile and Family Division). Data was collected by interview and content analysis. 25 of the associate judges were male and 36 were female. Most of the associate judges were between 51 and 55 years old. Most of them were married and had graduated with a bachelors degree and the majority of them had a high level of self esteem. Most of the associate judges work to help children especially those who are from poor backgrounds and have little chance to raise themselves up in society. The associate judges are not concerned about the expenses they incur in fulfilling their job because their hearts are filled with an honest desire to help children. They appreciate working with the Nakornpathom court so much because it is an honorable place and it is a landmark in the province and is central to region 7. Most associate judges believe that drug abuse is the major cause of deviant and criminal behavior. The family, as the primary institution of socialization, appeares to play the most important role in the prevention of child and juvenile delinquency. The process for solving the problem of juvenile delinquency can be divided into three different parts : prevention, treatment and law enforcement. These are not the responsibility of any one person or group of people such as a parliament etc., but they are there represent for all to recognize and find a way to solve. Therefore, the associate judges should coordinate with related organizations and there should be activities for juvenile which teach them the value of living in society in a harmonious way.
