การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิผลของการประยุกต์ใช้กระบวนการกลุ่มในการส่งเสริมการใช้หมวกนิรภัยขณะขับขี่รถจักรยานยนต์ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมปลาย จังหวัดราชบุรี กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย สังกัดกรมสามัญศึกษากระทรวงศึกษาธิการ จังหวัดราชบุรี จำนวน 80 คน แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง 40 คน กลุ่มเปรียบเทียบ 40 คน โปรแกรมที่จัดให้กลุ่มทดลองเน้นการใช้วิธีการเรียนรู้ผ่านกระบวนการกลุ่ม การอภิปรายกลุ่ม การสาธิตและการฝึกปฏิบัติ และการตั้งชมรมเพื่อป้องกันอุบัติเหตุจากการใช้รถจักรยานยนต์ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการรวบรวมข้อมูล ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามการรับรู้โอกาสเสี่ยง ความรุนแรง ความสามารของตนเอง ความคาดหวังในประสิทธิผลของการสวมหมวกนิรภัย และพฤติกรรมการขับขี่รถจักรยานยนต์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า หลังการทดลอง กลุ่มทดลองมีการรับรู้โอกาสเสี่ยง การรับรู้ความรุนแรงของการเกิดอุบัติเหตุจากการไม่สวมหมวกนิรภัยขณะขับขี่รถจักรยานยนต์ ความคาดหวังในความสามารถของตนเองและความคาดหวังในประสิทธิผลของการสวมหมวกนิรภัยอย่างถูกต้องขณะขับขี่รถจักรยานยนต์รวมทั้งมีพฤติกรรมการใช้หมวกนิรภัยขณะขับขี่รถจักรยานยนต์ ดีขึ้นกว่าก่อนการทดลองและดีกว่ากลุ่มเปรียบเทียบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p < 0.05) แสดงให้เห็นว่า การเรียนรู้ผ่านกระบวนการกลุ่ม การสาธิต และฝึกปฏิบัติ ทำให้นักเรียนมีความตระหนักถึงความเสี่ยงของตนเองต่อพฤติกรรมการขับขี่รถจักรยานยนต์ที่ไม่ถูกต้อง ส่งผลให้นักเรียนมีการเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมในทางที่ดีขึ้น ดังนั้นจึงควรจัดให้มีโปรแกรมส่งเสริมให้นักเรียน นักศึกษามีการรับรู้ และมีพฤติกรรมที่ถูกต้องในการใช้รถจักรยานยนต์
The objective of this quasi-experimental research was to assess the effectiveness of a program using group process to promote motorcycle helmet use among secondary school students. The sample comprised 80 senior high school students under the Department of General Education, Ministry of Education, Rajchaburi province, Thailand. The samples were equally divided into two groups, an experimental and comparison group. The experimental group received the program activities through the school accidental prevention club. Group process was emphasized in implementing group discussion, demonstration, and practices. Self-administered questionnaires, regarding perception and behavioral practices in using a helmet while driving a motorcycle, were used to collect data. Results of the study showed that after the experiment, the experimental group had significantly better perceived susceptibility and perceived severity of motorcycle accidents when not wearing a helmet, perceived self-efficacy in and perceived outcome expectation from correctly wearing a helmet while driving a motorcycle, and helmet wearing practices than before the experiment as well as than those of the comparison group (p<0.05). These results indicate that learning through group process, demonstration, and practices made the experimental group students gain more awareness of risks from driving a motorcycle without wearing a helmet properly. The awareness then shaped the students motorcycle driving behavior, more specifically use of a helmet while driving. Therefore, each secondary high school that has a significant number of students driving motorcycles to school should implement this kind of program to enhance the student perception and practices regarding driving a motorcycle properly
