Abstract
Paralyzed organ caused by neural injury requires electrotherapy to restore the lost function and avoids complications. Transcutaneous electrical stimulation (TES) is the most common technique to elicit muscle contraction with electrical impulses applied over the skin. A particular motor task, such as mobile FES cycling, requires a coordinated multi-channel high-intensity miniaturized stimulator with battery-powered compatibility. However, it is hard to find a commercial device with the condition mentioned above, and a tailored design TES system is frequently preferable. This study presents the TES system development board to assist the developers in diminishing the complexity of hardware design. The board comprises the essential TES circuitry on the daughterboard-style expansion card, which is inserted into a customized system with an edge connector through a MO-309 socket, enabling the TES function with minimal extra parts.
