Thai Speech to Mathematical Expressions

Abstract

We developed a Thai speech-to-mathematical expression system to generate mathematical expressions from Thai speech. A mathematical expression was produced by predefined math speech rules, speech recognition, and a Thai-spoken math expression parser. Users edited speech input by using speech commands. In addition, an incorrectly recognized word was substituted by consulting the dictionary. Possible mathematical expression candidates were generated. Then, the top three choices were presented via the user interface, empowering users to select their desired expression. Finally, users exported the desired expression in Microsoft Office applications.
