ปัญหาและวิธีแก้ไขปัญหาที่ใช้ในการแปลเพลงฉ่อยจากรายการ คุณพระช่วย

Abstract

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในกระบวนการแปลเพลงฉ่อยเป็น ภาษาอังกฤษจากรายการ "คุณพระช่วย" จำนวน 8 ตอน ซึ่งถูกจัดทำไว้ในรูปแบบดีวีดีบันทึกการแสดงสด "จำอวดหน้าม่าน รวมชุด 1-5" ผลิตและจัดจำหน่ายโดยบริษัท เวิร์คพอยท์ เอ็นเทอร์เทนเมนท์ จำกัด (มหาชน) ร่วมกับบริษัท เฮีย จำกัด ในปี พ.ศ. 2554 ใช้การศึกษาแบบการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพโดยทดลองปฏิบัติจริงในการลงมือแปล รวบรวมปัญหาและวิธีแก้ไขปัญหา โดยใช้แนวคิดและทฤษฎีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการแปลเพลงฉ่อยซึ่งผู้วิจัยพบว่ามีปัญหาเกิดขึ้น 3 ประเด็นหลัก คือ 1. ปัญหาด้านไวยากรณ์ 2. ปัญหาด้านการ ถ่ายทอดความหมาย และ 3. ปัญหาในการแปลกวีนิพนธ์ ผู้วิจัยใช้กลวิธีที่แตกต่างในการแก้ไขปัญหาดังกล่าว ได้แก่ การแปลแบบตรงตัว การแปลเอาความ และการปรับบทแปลของ สัญฉวี สายบัว (2553) การแปลโดยใช้คำหรือสำนวนที่มีความหมายตรงกัน (Translation Equivalence) ของแคทฟอร์ด (1965) การแปลโดยใช้คำหรือสำนวนที่มีความหมายใกล้เคียงกัน (Translation of Non-equivalence) ของ Baker (2011) นอกจากนั้นยังมีการค้นคว้าข้อมูลโดยใช้อภิธานศัพท์ในการเลือกคำให้เหมาะสม คล้องจอง และมีความหลากหลาย การใช้สื่ออิเล็กทรอนิกส์ การสอบถามผู้รู้ทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างประเทศ เป็นต้น

This study aimed to explore the problems and solutions arising in the translation process of eight selected Choi songs from the Khun Phra Chuay variety show on the DVD released in 2011, distributed by Workpoint Ent. Pcl. in cooperation with Here Co, Ltd. The rhymes and the meaning of the original songs were maintained, while problems and solutions were identified with an analysis of the study results. There were 3 main causes of problems found in this study, namely, 1) grammar 2) meaning transfer and 3) poetic rhymes schemes. Various translation strategies employed to solve the aforesaid problems included literal translation, free translation, as well as the accommodation translation of Sanchawee Saibua (2010), the equivalence translation of J. C. Catford (1965), and the non-equivalence translation of Mona Baker (2011). Moreover, a range of dictionaries were used in the translation process such as Thai-English, English-Thai, Thai-Thai, thesaurus and rhyme dictionary. Experts in the field of translation were also consulted for their suggestions.
