Abstract
The Editors-in-Chief have retracted this article after concerns were raised about the data reported. The journal was first notified of these concerns by the authors, who stated that they had identified several cases where the same image had been used in their manuscript to represent different experiments. Further issues were then identified following an investigation by the Publisher. The full list of impacted images includes: Figure 3h HUVEC with J82 conditioned media, 24h pHaloTag overlaps with Fig. 4i HUVEC+ Conditioned media from J82 cells, 24h pHaloTag. In Fig. 4h Invasion pGREM1(ΔSP)- overlaps with the Invasion assay for pGREM1(N42A)-. Figure 4h T24 24h Migration pHaloTag overlaps with Fig. 6f T24 24h Migration pHaloTag. Figure 4h J82 24h Migration pHaloTag overlaps with Fig. 6f J82 24h Migration pHaloTag. In Fig. 6j, Migration pHaloTag_rBMP4/HCI overlaps with Migration pGREM1+pBMPR2; and Migration HCI+pBMPR overlaps with Invasion pGREM1+pBMPR2. Figure 6 g HUVEC + Conditioned media (from J82 cells), 24h pHaloTag overlaps with Fig. 8i HUVEC + Conditioned media, 24h pGREM1 (ΔSP)+DMSO. Figure 8d T24, 24h Migration pGREM1(ΔSP)+IMD0354 overlaps with Fig. 8h T24, 24h Migration pGREM(ΔSP) + LY294002. Figure 8e HUVEC+ Conditioned media, 24h pGREM1(WT)+ DMSO overlaps with Fig. 8i HUVEC+ Conditioned media, 24h pGREM1(WT) + DMSO. Figure 8d T24, 24h Invasion pGREM1(ΔSP) + DMSO overlaps with Fig. 8h T24, 24h Invasion pGREM1(ΔSP) + DMSO. The Editors-in-Chief no longer have confidence in the reliability of the results or conclusions of this article. Lih-Ren Chen, Hsin-Yu Hsieh, Chen-Tang Pan, Meng-Shin Shiao, and Pichpisith Pierre Vejvisithsakul agree with this retraction. Ti-Chun Chan and Chien-Feng Li agree with the retraction but disagree with the wording of the retraction notice. The remaining authors did not respond to correspondence from the Publisher regarding this retraction.
