Abstract
First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Kriengkrai Phongkitkarun and Porncheera Chusorn are co-first authors on ‘A chemically tunable FOXM1–DHFR sensor reveals the direct influence of FOXM1 on the cell cycle’, published in JCS. Kriengkrai is a Master's student in the lab of Somponnat Sampattavanich at Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, where he is developing AI-powered quantitative imaging platforms and intuitive software to decode cellular heterogeneity and drive precision-medicine biomarker discovery. Porncheera conducted the research described in this article while a postdoctoral researcher in Somponnat Sampattavanich's lab. She is now a Lecturer at Roi Et Rajabhat University, Roi Et, Thailand, where she is engineering next-generation biosensors to decode cellular dynamics and empower research-driven solutions.
