Abstract
The composition and interaction between bass and drums in jazz music are one of the most important elements which every musician must learn. The purpose of this thematic paper was to comprehend Christian McBride's compositions and to understand the interaction between bass and drums from Live at Tonic through three selected tunes. The researcher adapted these composition techniques and knowledge of the interaction between bass and drums to create a new tune which was inspired by this paper. There were two outcomes from the study. The readers understood the idea and composition techniques such as a song form, rhythmic idea, and repetition. Second, the readers acquired the pedal point and two beats against three beats which bass and drums are communicated. The readers can adapt these composition techniques to improve their original compositions.
การประพันธ์เพลงถือได้ว่าเป็นวิชาที่นักดนตรีและศิลปินจำเป็นต้องศึกษา เพื่อที่จะนำไปพัฒนาผลงานต่อ ๆ ไป นอกจากนี้ การปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเบสและกลองก็เป็นเรื่องที่สำคัญเช่นกัน เพราะว่าเบสและกลองเป็นส่วนประกอบที่สำคัญของแต่ละบทเพลง ดังนั้นรายงานสารนิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจในแนวทางการประพันธ์เพลงและการปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเบสกับกลองในสามบทเพลงที่ได้เลือกไว้ ทั้งสามบทเพลงมาจากอัลบั้มไลฟ์ แอทโทนิค จากผลงานของคริสเตียน แมคไบรด์ การวิเคราะห์จะแบ่งเป็นสองส่วนหลัก ๆ ส่วนที่หนึ่งจะเป็นการวิเคราะห์วิธีการประพันธ์เพลงในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ อาทิเช่น ฟอร์มเพลง คอร์ดโทน เป็นต้น และส่วนที่สอง เป็นการวิเคราะห์การปฏิสัมพันธ์ของเบสกับกลอง โดยจะวิเคราะห์จากการสื่อสารกัน ในระหว่างการบรรเลงของเบสกับกลอง ผลจากการศึกษาพบว่าการวิเคราะห์ทั้งสองส่วนนี้ ผู้อ่านมีความเข้าในทักษะการประพันธ์เพลงและการปฏิสัมพันธ์ของเบสกับกลองจากสามบทเพลงนี้ สามารถนำ ความรู้ไปพัฒนาทักษะในการประพันธ์เพลงได้
