dc.description.abstract | This research aims at studying concepts and processes of Thai childrens web site production including the setting of concepts and policies of childrens web site webmasters and the ways the webmasters can fullfill those concepts and policies. The method of the research was designed to find and select the sample, study the sample, contact webmasters, produce tools for the research, as well as collect and analyse data. The results of this research came from data collected from interviews with five webmasters. The details of the results are as follows: 1) Most webmasters create web sites for children in Thailand because of their own interests. They not only own web sites, but also manage and develop them including setting concepts and policies and looking after and controlling each step of production processes. 2) There are two to 15 persons in a small-size organization. They work according to their expertise and assignments and must be checked by webmasters. Moreover, the persons working in these organizations are often volunteers who work without being paid. 3) Webmasters have objectives which emphasize the benefits that Thai children should receive in order to gain experience, enhance their vision and broaden their world views. 4) Webmasters have knowledge about child psychology and web site production. They also have ideals and positive attitudes towards their work. Moreover, they study the target group before starting the production. 5) Webmasters separate the teamwork into departments including an information department, a design department and a program department. Every department is controlled and checked by webmasters. 6) There are both internal and external limitations of childrens web site production. The internal limitations are capital, organisation of webmasters, personnel, time, and sources of information. While the external limitations are technology, recipients society, the number of recipients, and copyrights.
