The success factors of software product development in Thai defensive industry

Abstract

There are numerous attacks on land, air, and social media. Therefore, the defense industry has emerged in the country and abroad. The defense business in Thailand is a business that is not very popular. Personnel coming into the development of national defense products must have specific experience. Moreover, the developed products will be based on continuous research and development. It is for entrepreneurs to plan production strategies as well as develop products to meet the quality requirements and continually build credibility with consumers. In the problem statement of this research, there are three main issues: the imbalance of the number of employees and workload; and the fact that there are many projects; and the software developers are limited. Next, employees' productivity is not enough to make a quality product. Lastly, company A, the researcher used in the study, does not have security testing of the product they develop. These things lead to product development that does not produce good products. Therefore, the researcher needs to find factors that build a good product by surveying the software development department of 52 people who developed products in the defense industry in Thailand. The results found that technical skills, security skills, and engagement are related to delivering a good product. In addition, the result presents each factor as technical skills are needed. The standard emphasizes the importance of security knowledge. Another environment which makes happy workplace creates an engagement. Hence, the study recommends improving coding skills, security techniques, and work-balance strategy. IMPLICATION OF THEMATIC PAPER: For additional research, the researcher will gather information from employees in the Thai defensive industry in order to cover more ground. This will include conducting a more in-depth interview on the factors affecting the development of good products and researching additional factors that can help defensive industries develop better products.

ในปัจจุบันมีการโจมตีมากมายไม่ว่าจะเป็นทั้งทางบก ทางอากาศ และทางโซเชียลมีเดีย จึงมีการเกิดธุรกิจที่เกี่ยวกับอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ แต่เนื่องด้วยธุรกิจทางด้านป้องกันประเทศในประเทศไทยนั้นเป็นธุรกิจที่มีไม่มากนัก ด้วยบุคลากรที่เข้ามาพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ด้านการป้องกันประเทศต้องมีประสบการณ์เฉพาะด้าน มากไปกว่านั้นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่พัฒนาจะเป็นในเชิงวิจัยและการพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่อง ในงานวิจัยนี้ผู้วิจัยได้ศึกษาผ่านบริษัท A เป็นองค์กรที่ทำด้านอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ ทางผู้วิจัยต้องการจะค้นหาปัจจัยที่ทำให้สร้างสรรค์ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีคุณภาพดี ลูกค้าใช้สินค้าแล้วกลับมาใช้ใหม่ และลูกค้าเก่าสร้างฐานลูกค้าใหม่ให้กับองค์กรที่พัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ ซึ่งจากปัญหาที่ทางผู้วิจัยพบคือ โครงการต่อปีที่บริษัท A ได้รับมีจำนวนมากทำให้พนักงานรับผิดชอบงานที่มากขึ้น มากไปกว่านั้นความสามารถในการผลิตของพนักงานลดลงทำให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่พัฒนามีคุณภาพที่ไม่ดีพอ และบริษัท A ไม่มีกระบวนการทดสอบผลิตภัณฑ์ในเชิงความปลอดภัยก่อนส่งมอบให้กับลูกค้า จึงอาจนำไปสู่ผลตอบรับในเชิงลบกับผลิตภัณฑ์ที่พัฒนา ดังนั้นการค้นหาปัจจัยที่ทำให้สร้างสรรค์ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีคุณภาพดี จึงใช้แบบสอบถามออนไลน์เพื่อรวบรวมข้อมูล โดยกลุ่มตัวอย่างใช้จำนวน 52 คน เป็นผู้ที่พัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ซอฟต์แวร์ด้านอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศในประเทศไทย ซึ่งข้อมูลเหล่านี้จะถูกวิเคราะห์โดยโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูป SPSS ผลวิจัยพบว่ามี 3 ปัจจัยหลักที่นำไปสู่การพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีคุณภาพที่ดี ได้แก่ ทักษะทางเทคนิค (Technical Skill) องค์ความรู้ด้านความปลอดภัย (Security Knowledge) และความผูกพันที่พนักงานมีต่อองค์กร (Employee Engagement) ดังนั้นงานวิจัยนี้แสดงถึงปัจจัยทั้งหมด จึงเป็นข้อเสนอแนะสำหรับองค์กรในการนำไปสู่การพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีคุณภาพที่ดี ลูกค้ามีความพึงพอใจในสินค้า และลูกค้าเก่าสร้างฐานลูกค้าใหม่ให้แก่องค์กร การนำผลของสารนิพนธ์ไปใช้ สำหรับการวิจัยเพิ่มเติม ผู้วิจัยจะรวบรวมข้อมูลของพนักงานที่ทำงานในอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ ให้ครอบคลุมมากยิ่งขึ้น รวมทั้งทำการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ดีและศึกษาปัจจัยอื่นๆ ที่สามารถปรับปรุงการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ดีสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ
