Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the effectiveness of private schools under Office of the Private Education Commission according to the national educational reform policy and independent variables affecting the private schools effectiveness The sample group which was the representative of the 104 private schools in Bangkok. Statistical analysis was completed using percentage, mean, standard deviation and the method of multiple regression analysis. The results showed that most or 73.1% of private schools under Private Education Commission possesses high effectiveness in the overall picture. The findings indicated that the behavior of school personnel, the school administration and the school culture influented effectiveness at the level of significance <.01 while the utilization of national educational reform policy showed no effect on school effectiveness and this was not in accordance with the original hypotheses.. The research showed that the behavior of school personnel had the greatest impact on effectiveness, followed by the school administration and then the school culture. All of four independent variables could explain the effectiveness of private schools at 46.7 % The findings suggest that the government sector such as the Ministry of Education & the Office of Private Education Commission should be able to see the advantages and the limitation of significant information to determine the educational direction of area development and there should be more research of the same nature for other school types as well as state schools in order to obtain a more complete picture.;
