Ruby mango is a named mango cultivar that originated in south Florida and is known for its bright red color. This type of mango is grown in the eastern region of Thailand for export. Therefore, an implementation of LPWAN (low power wide-Area network) technologies for smart agriculture applications are required in order to increase the quality or the products. This research focuses to model the LPWAN at 433 MHz for network planning in the farm. The LoRa channel modeling in terms of path-loss calculation uses empirical measurements of RSS (received signal strength) in a ruby mango plantation located in Sakaeo, Thailand. In this research, LoS (line-of-sight) and NLoS (non-line-of-sight) propagation measurement data are collected for path-loss prediction modeling. The proposed model is found to be the better choice (average MAE 3.92 dB) comparing with AITU-R model for planning network in ruby mango plantation.
