Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of symptomatic disorders affecting motor control and posture. Most children with CP receive physical therapy. Measuring quality of life (QOL) is a part of assessing the health conditions in children with CP. The Cerebral Palsy Quality of Life for Children (CP QOL-Child) is a condition specific QOL measurement for children with CP. However, the CP QOL-Child questionnaire has not been translated into the Thai language. The aims of this study were to cross-culturally translate and examine reliability and internal consistency of the CP QOL questionnaire (Thai version). Children with CP aged 9-12 years and primary caregivers taking care of children with CP aged 4-12 years participated in the study with 30 persons per group. The participants completed the questionnaire completed the questionnaire again at least two weeks apart. Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC (3,1)) was used to examine test-retest reliability and Cronbach's alpha was used to examine the internal consistency of the questionnaire. The results showed that ICC (3,1) were 0.91-0.96 and Cronbach's alpha coefficients were 0.82-0.9 for the CP QOL-Child questionnaire for primary caregiver proxy. For the child self-report, ICC (3,1) were 0.78-0.86 and Cronbach's alpha coefficients were 0.76-0.91. In conclusion, test-retest reliability and internal consistency of the CP QOL-Child (Thai version) for both primary caregiver proxy report and child self-report were acceptable. However, validity studies and reliability studies in Thai populations with different local languages and cultures are suggested.
