ผลของโปรแกรมการให้ความรู้เพื่อช่วยเลิกบุหรี่แบบกระชับ ร่วมกับการใช้โทรศัพท์ติดตามผลการเลิกบุหรี่ ของพนักงานอุตสาหกรรมผลิตภัณฑ์หลังคา จังหวัดสระบุรี

Abstract

ผู้ปฏิบัติงานในโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมมีโอกาสสัมผัสสิ่งแวดล้อมที่คุกคามสุขภาพมากกว่าคนทั่วไปและถ้าสูบบุหรี่จะเพิ่มความเสี่ยงการเกิดปัญหาสุขภาพมากขึ้น การวิจัยกึ่งทดลองนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมให้ความรู้เพื่อช่วยเลิกบุหรี่แบบกระชับร่วมกับการใช้โทรศัพท์ติดตาม ต่อการรับรู้ความสามารถของตนเองในการเลิกบุหรี่ การปฏิบัติตัวในการเลิกสูบบุหรี่ จำนวนมวนบุหรี่ที่สูบเฉลี่ยต่อวัน ระดับความรุนแรงของการติดนิโคติน และระดับก๊าซคาร์บอนมอนอกไซด์ในลมหายใจ กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือพนักงานชายอุตสาหกรรม ผลิตภัณฑ์หลังคา จังหวัดสระบุรี กลุ่มทดลองจำนวน 25 คนจะได้โปรแกรมให้ความรู้เพื่อช่วยเลิกบุหรี่แบบกระชับและการติดตามผ่านโทรศัพท์ กลุ่มเปรียบเทียบจำนวน 27 คนได้คู่มือเลิกบุหรี่ด้วยตนเองมีการเก็บข้อมูลก่อนทดลอง หลังทดลองและระยะติดตามผล ผลการวิจัยพบว่าเมื่อสิ้นสุดโปรแกรมกลุ่มทดลองมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยการรับรู้ความสามารถของตนเองในการเลิกบุหรี่ การปฏิบัติตัวในการเลิกสูบบุหรี่จำนวนมวนบุหรี่ที่สูบเฉลี่ยต่อวัน ระดับความรุนแรงในการติดนิโคติน และระดับก๊าซคาร์บอนมอนอกไซด์ในลมหายใจ ดีขึ้นกว่าก่อนการทดลองและดีกว่ากลุ่มเปรียบเทียบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p-value < .05) จากการวิจัยครั้งนี้สรุปได้ว่าโปรแกรมการให้ความรู้เพื่อช่วยเลิกบุหรี่แบบกระชับ ร่วมกับการใช้โทรศัพท์ติดตามผลสามารถปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมการสูบบุหรี่ และช่วยพนักงานอุตสาหกรรมผลิตภัณฑ์หลังคาเลิกบุหรี่ ทั้งนี้สามารถนำโปรแกรมนี้ไปประยุกต์ใช้กับประชากรวัยทำงานกลุ่มอื่นๆได้

Industrial workers are at a greater risk of exposure to health hazards in the working environments than other people. If workers smoke, the risk of health problems would be increased. The objective of this quasi-experimental study was to examine the effects of a brief smoking cessation education program and telephone follow-ups on Perceived self-efficacy to quit smoking, Smoking cessation behavior, Number of cigarettes smoked per day, Nicotine dependence level and Exhaled carbon monoxide level. The samples were male workers in the roofing products industry in Saraburi province. The experimental group (n=25) received a brief smoking cessation education program with telephone follow-ups. The control group (n=27) received the guide to smoking cessation by themselves. Pre-test, posttest and follow-up data were collected. The result revealed that after the intervention, the experimental group had a significantly better mean scores of Perceived self-efficacy to quit smoke, Smoking cessation behavior, Number of cigarettes smoked per day, Nicotine dependence level and Exhaled carbon monoxide level than the pre-test and better than that of the control group (p-value < .05) Finding suggested that the brief smoking cessation education program with telephone follow-ups on smoking cessation could help the roof product industry workers modify their smoking behavior and quit smoking. The findings of this study could be applied to other worker populations.
