Abstract
Requirements definition constitutes the earliest phase of the software development life cycle or software engineering. They are statements of need which should convey understanding about a desired result, independent of its actual realization. Requirements engineering is the process of acquiring, refining and checking client needs for a software system. The main objective of the requirements engineering process is to provide a model of what is needed and a clear, consistent, precise and unambiguous statement of the problem to be solved. This research is aimed at developing a Computer Aided Requirements Engineering (CARE) program which would help software engineers and clients to define and collect requirements in a structural way. To develop CARE, Applied Viewpoint Oriented Requirements Definition (VORD) Methodology was used to be the input function. Applied IEEE Std. 830-1993 and IEEE Std. 1233-1996 were used to be the template to generate Software Requirements Specification. Peter Coad and Edward Yourdon object-oriented methodology and technology were used in analysis and design phase. In implementation phase, an object-oriented application tool was use to develop CARE.
