การรับรู้และการปฏิบัติของครูสอนภาษาชาวต่างประเทศในการส่งเสริมสมรรถนะการสื่อสารระหว่างวัฒนธรรมในชั้นเรียนภาษา: กรณีศึกษาโรงเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาแห่งหนึ่งในจังหวัดอ่างทอง

Abstract

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาการรับรู้ของครูสอนภาษาชาวต่างประเทศในการส่งเสริมสมรรถนะการสื่อสารระหว่างวัฒนธรรมในชั้นเรียนภาษา และ 2) เพื่อศึกษาการปฏิบัติของครูสอนภาษาชาวต่างประเทศในการส่งเสริมสมรรถนะการสื่อสารระหว่างวัฒนธรรมในชั้นเรียนภาษา กลุ่มเป้าหมาย คือ ครูสอนภาษาชาวต่างประเทศโรงเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษา ในจังหวัดอ่างทอง เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยใช้เครื่องมือในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย แผนการสอน การสังเกตชั้นเรียนแบบไม่มีส่วนร่วม และการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้างผลการวิจัยพบว่า ครูสอนภาษาชาวต่างประเทศบางส่วนได้มีการออกแบบหรือกำหนดวัตถุประสงค์การเรียนรู้ซึ่งยึดตามหนังสือแบบเรียนหรือคู่มือครู โดยมุ่งเน้นการพัฒนาทักษะทางภาษาเป็นหลัก แต่จากการเข้าสังเกตชั้นเรียนการสอนภาษาร่วมด้วย แสดงให้เห็นว่าครูสอนภาษาชาวต่างประเทศส่วนใหญ่มีการปฏิบัติที่ส่งเสริมสมรรถนะการสื่อสารระหว่างวัฒนธรรมได้เป็นอย่างดี โดยมีความเปิดใจกว้างและยืดหยุ่นในการจัดการเรียนการสอน มีการสอดแทรกความรู้ทางวัฒนธรรมโดยการเปรียบเทียบวัฒนธรรมของตนเองและของนักเรียน ครูชาวต่างประเทศมีการรับรู้และความตระหนักด้านทัศนคติ ความรู้ความเข้าใจ ทักษะ รวมถึงมีวิถีการปฏิบัติที่ส่งเสริมให้นักเรียนมีสมรรถนะทางวัฒนธรรมในชั้นเรียนการสอนภาษาผ่านการสอดแทรกเนื้อหาทางวัฒนธรรม ทั้งวัฒนธรรมของตนเองและวัฒนธรรมต่างประเทศอื่น ๆ

This study aimed to: 1) investigate teachers’ perceptions towards promoting intercultural communicative competence in language classrooms; and 2) investigate teachers’ practices towards promoting intercultural communicative competence in language classrooms. The research used qualitative analysis. The target group was a selection of the foreign language teachers who taught in language classrooms of a Thai secondary school in Ang Thong province. The tools of this research consisted of lesson plans, non-participant observation, and semi-structured interviews. The results of this research revealed that some foreign language teachers designed or determined the purpose of learning by focusing on the development of language skills only. However, the data from non-participant observation showed that most of the foreign language teachers had self-awareness about perceptions and practices towards promoting intercultural communicative competence as well. They were open-minded and flexible in teaching and learning management. They transferred cultural knowledge by comparing and contrasting their own culture and students’ culture. Consequently, they encouraged students to have awareness of their own culture and other foreign cultures.
