การศึกษานวนิยายแปลเรื่องรหัสลับดาวินชีของ อรดี สุวรรณโกมลจากเรื่อง The Da Vinci Code ของ Dan Brown

Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้เป็นการวิจัยเอกสารและวิเคราะห์เชิงคุณภาพ เพื่อศึกษากลวิธีการแปลและลีลาภาษาที่ใช้ในการแปลนวนิยายเรื่อง The Da Vinci Code ของ แดน บราวน์ มาเป็นภาษาไทย ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่า ผู้แปลใช้กลวิธีการแปล ได้แก่การแปลระดับคำและวลี กลวิธีที่ใช้คือการทับศัพท์ แบ่งได้เป็น การทับศัพท์และใช้เชิงอรรถ การทับศัพท์และแปล การทับศัพท์และแสดงต้นฉบับไว้ในวงเล็บ และการทับศัพท์และแสดงคำแปลไว้ในวงเล็บ ส่วนกลวิธีอื่นๆ ได้แก่ การเทียบเคียงกับสิ่งที่มีในวัฒนธรรมไทย การตัดคำและวลี ในระดับประโยคผู้แปลนำการทับศัพท์มาใช้ถ่ายเสียงประโยคที่เป็นภาษาอื่นๆ และอีกกลวิธีคือการเพิ่มความ ในระดับข้อความรหัส ผู้แปลใช้การแสดงข้อความรหัสใส่ไว้ในฉบับแปลและให้คำแปลไว้ในวงเล็บ ช่วยให้ผู้อ่านสามารถเทียบข้อความรหัสกับคำแปลได้สะดวกและเข้าใจได้โดยง่าย และระดับบทร้อยกรอง ผู้แปลได้ถ่ายทอดบทร้อยกรองต้นฉบับซึ่งเป็นรูปแบบห้าคณะมาถ่ายทอดเป็นกลอนสุภาพที่ใช้ภาษาเรียบง่าย ด้านลีลาภาษาแบ่งการศึกษาออกเป็น 3 ระดับ คือลีลาภาษาที่ใช้ในการเล่าเรื่อง แบ่งเป็นการใช้คำโวหาร การใช้คำที่แสดงกริยา การใช้ภาษาพูดในบทบรรยาย ส่วนระดับลีลาภาษาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับตัวละครชื่อสิลาส พบว่า ผู้แปลใช้ลีลาภาษาทั้งในส่วนที่เป็นบทสนทนาและบทบรรยายที่เกี่ยวกับสิลาส สามารถสร้างความน่าสนใจให้กับเนื้อหาของนวนิยายได้อย่างดี และระดับสุดท้ายคือ ลีลาภาษาในการสร้างคำใหม่ เป็นการนำคำที่ผู้แปลคิดขึ้นใหม่มาใช้แทนคำศัพท์บางคำในนวนิยายต้นฉบับ

This thesis is a qualitative study on the translation techniques and language styles used by Oradee Suwankomol in translating The Da Vinci Code into Thai. The translation techniques can be divided into four levels: 1. The word and phrase level. The techniques at this level use transliteration, which are, transliterating and adding an explanation in a footnote, transliterating and translating words and phrases, transliterating and adding original words and phrases in parenthesis and transliterating and adding translated words and phrases in parenthesis. The other techniques use words which refer the things that exist in Thai culture, or delete words and phrases. 2. The sentence level, which uses transliteration and adding more details 3. Code message translation. This method can help the readers know the original code message used in the original novel and adds its translation in parenthesis which helps the readers compare it with the original code message. 4. Poem translation. The translator has translated the original poems which are written in iambic pentameter into a kind of Thai poem which is called กลอนสุภาพ (klon-su-pab). Regarding the language styles that the translator uses, the researcher has also divided the study into three levels: 1. Language styles for narrative parts. The styles that are used at this level are using literary words, using words that express action and using spoken language. 2. Language styles which involve the character named Silas. The styles that are used at this level are dialogues and narrative. These styles can add colour to the narrative. 3. Creating new words. The translator uses this language style when some words in the original version do not have meanings in Thai, so the translator has created new words that are understandable to describe the meanings of those original words
