Abstract
This research aimed at evaluating the efficiency of the electrochemical chloride extraction technique on the electrical voltage and concentration of electrolyte in concrete specimens contaminated with chloride. This research used steel-embedded concrete specimens immersed in 2M NaCl for 150 days. Chloridecontaminated concrete specimens were applied at a varying voltage of 3, 6, and 12 V for 14 days. The titanium mesh as an anode was submerged in varying electrolyte concentration of 0.1M and 0.2M NaOH. The results of the research showed that the removal of chloride was determined by half-cell potential measurement and acid-soluble chloride content. After applying the electrochemical chloride extraction for 14 days, the rebar potentials of the concrete specimens contaminated chloride were increased when the electrical voltage was increased for both electrolyte concentration solution used in this research. At the steel level, the chloride concentration of the concrete specimens was found to decrease from 8.1-10.8 % and 20.7.6-24.5 % for electrolyte concentration of 0.1M NaOH and 0.2 M NaOH respectively.
