Development and feature extending academic conference management system from Opensource Software

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a conference management system to manage academic conferences because the process is complex and consists of many steps. Therefore, it causes ineffectively in managing the conference. The researcher developed the conference system from the Open Conference System (OCS) by improving the web design in user friendliness and attraction. Furthermore, this system includes new features which are paper tracking, reviewer status tracking, conference statistics, and paper scoring. After development, the proposed system was evaluated by experts from the Information Technology Management Division, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. The evaluation result was that it has good criteria, especially for usability. It can be implied that the proposed system supports both general use and administrators effectively

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ทำการพัฒนาระบบเพื่อใช้สำหรับการจัดงานประชุมวิชาการ เนื่องจากการจัดงานประชุมวิชาการนั้นมีความซับซ้อนและประกอบไปด้วยหลายขั้นตอนดังนั้นถ้าไม่มีระบบมาช่วยในการจัดการจะทำให้เกิดข้อผิดพลาดได้ จากาการศึกษาข้อมูลในปัจจุบันในงานวิจัยนี้จะพัฒนาระบบจากโอเพนซอร์สชื่อ OCS ด้วยจะมีการเพิ่มฟังชั่นการทำงานเช่นการติดตามสถานะของบทความและผู้ประเมินบทความ, ฟังชั่นการให้คะแนนระบบ และฟังชั่นในการดูสถิติต่างๆ ของระบบ หลังจากการพัฒนาจะต้องทำการประเมินระบบโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากคณะการจัดการเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ผลจากการประเมินระบบอยู่ในเกณฑ์ดีโดยเฉพาะด้านการใช้งานดังนั้นระบบที่ พัฒนาขึ้นมาจะสามารถนำมาช่วยในการจัดงานประชุมวิชาการให้มีประสิทธ์ิภาพมากขึ้นและมีการ ใช้งานที่ง่ายขึ้น
