ผลของโปรแกรมการส่งเสริมสมรรถนะแห่งตนต่อทักษะการดูแลผู้สูงอายุโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อมของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุข

Abstract

โรคข้อเข่าเสื่อมนับเป็นปัญหาสาธารณสุขที่สำคัญ แม้จะไม่เป็นอันตรายถึงชีวิต แต่มีผลเสีย ต่อสุขภาพทั้งทางตรงและทางอ้อม การวิจัยกึ่งทดลองครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการส่งเสริมสมรรถนะแห่งตนต่อทักษะการดูแลผู้สูงอายุโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อมในชุมชน กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็น อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขจำนวน 60 คน แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง 30 คน กลุ่มเปรียบเทียบ 30 คนโดยกลุ่ม ทดลองจะได้รับโปรแกรมการส่งเสริมสมรรถนะแห่งตนในการดูแลผู้สูงอายุโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อม ประกอบด้วย กิจกรรม การบรรยาย การสาธิต และการฝึกปฏิบัติ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม วิเคราะห์ ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติ Paired t - test Independent t - test และ Chi-square test ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ภายหลังการเข้าร่วมโครงการ กลุ่มทดลอง มีความรู้เรื่องโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อม การรับรู้สมรรถนะแห่งตนในการดูแลผู้สูงอายุโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อม ผลลัพธ์ที่คาดหวังของอาสาสมัคร สาธารณสุข และทักษะการดูแลสุขภาพผู้สูงอายุโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อม ของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุข สูงกว่ากลุ่มเปรียบเทียบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ( p < 0.001) และเพิ่มสูงขึ้นกว่าก่อนการทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทาง สถิติ (p < 0.001) เป็นการสนับสนุนแนวทางการส่งเสริมสมรรถนะแห่งตนต่อทักษะการดูแลผู้สูงอายุโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อมของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขได้เป็นอย่างดีในพื้นที่กรุงเทพมหานครต่อไป

Objective: Osteoarthritis has long been regarded as a widespread and persistent public health problem. Although it is not a life-threatening condition, it can affect human health in both direct and indirect ways. The purpose of this experimental study was to determine the effectiveness of a Skills Enhancement Program designed to promote skills required by health volunteers caring for the elderly with knee osteoarthritis. Materials and Method: Sixty subjects were divided in to two groups, A) the Experimental Group (n=30) and B) the Comparison Group (n=30). The Skills Enhancement Program included activities involving lectures, demonstrations, and actual practice. This program was introduced to the Experimental Group. Feedback data was obtained using questionnaires. Paired t-test Independent t-test and Chi-square test were used to analyse the data gathered from the questionnaires. Results: The results revealed that after intervention, the Experimental Group had improved knowledge about self-efficacy, better expected outcome, and improved practical skills required in the care of elderly with knee osteoarthritis. The results show that the Experimental Group achieved significantly higher scores than those demonstrated by the Comparison Group (p<.001) as well as their own prior to participating in the program (p<001). Conclusion: The Skills Enhancement Program developed for this study can be used to provide training and promote Self- efficacy approaches for health workers and volunteers caring for the elderly with knee osteoarthritis, as well as other conditions.
