Application program for personnel information system : a case study of Udornthanee provincial Primary Education Office

Abstract

The current management of personnel data in the personnel section of the Udornthanee Provincial Primary Education Office is collecting data manually on individual employees which consumes much time in searching data as a result, there was a need to find new procedures and adapt Information Technology to improve the system performance. The purpose of this study was to analyze, design, and develop an application program prototype for their personnel information system. The system development method consisted of the following steps: interview users, analyze operational data, create relational database using Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, and code program with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 . The result of this study was that the information system can easily eliminate the complexity and the program can serve as a foundation for developing further necessary Information Technology applications for the personnel section. The personnel information system was tested and evaluated. The result shows that users were satisfied with the efficiency. This personnel information system can be enhanced to utilize Internet technology in the future.
