Abstract
This was a descriptive research whose objectives were to study the general information, stigma, discrimination and to compare stigma, discrimination and the population characteristics. A sample of 950 individuals from the general public considered to be carriers and meth users, aged from 18-65 years, were selected using simple random sampling and systematic sampling. Data were collected by questionnaires between 4 January 2016 and 31 March 2016 and analyzed using SPSS Version 21 and presented in percentage, mean and standard deviation. The information characteristic of stigma and discrimination was analyzed using descriptive statistics and displayed in range, minimum, average and standard deviation. Data distribution, stigma and discrimination were analyzed though Kolmogorov - Simonov test and to compare the mean score of stigma and discrimination, bio-social T-test and Mann-Whitney U test were used. The results of the study were divided into three general groups: individuals and families in the community who abuse, amphetamines were mostly females. The average age was over 44 year's old with elementary school level of education. Service providers were mostly female, average age 44, who graduated from high school. Both groups mostly did not drink alcohol and did not smoke. The amphetamine users were almost entirely male. The Mean age was 31 years who completed primary and secondary education in the same proportion, first started using amphetamine at the average age of 23 years along with other amphetamine. The results also showed that stigma and discrimination was more felt from service providers and law enforcement than the other groups. Those who used drugs including, amphetamines, stigma and discrimination against their own were quite a few. The groups did not differ much. The study compared the stigma and discrimination in the social life of the group and the people in the community, females suffered from stigma and discrimination more than men.
